50 shades of Lakeland

Bridge House, Ambleside

It’s fifty years since I first visited Ambleside and other parts of The Lake District and there’s lots of good memories there.

Caroline and I had a few days up there last week and yes, we even had good weather to wander around or cycle in.

The full story will be posted next weekend once I’ve got the new photos sorted and a semblance of order for the piece.

But there’s a car to get looked at and then it’s back to work on Tuesday.

And yes, we did have a good time over there – and not only in The Golden Rule or The Priest Hole!

Hello!

Just popping by to say hello and welcome back to wisepacking!

Still with the full time job at Rohan, but a new laptop and a few tales to tell have ensured that the time is right to restart the site.

So there’s more thoughts on clothing, gear, packing and books plus accounts of trips to places as diverse as Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Leeds, Liverpool, Yorkshire Dales, London and Malta.

And probably a few comments about technology too – whilst the phone and tablet are both Apple products, this here laptop uses Microsoft software (and it’s taking a bit of getting used to…).

If you’re in the UK, enjoy the rest of this Bank Holiday, especially in May 2023, they’re a bit like buses.

With three turning up during this month!
